Photography Club

The club was formed, in 2008, to provide an opportunity for interested students to learn about, and practice using, photographic equipment. Photo Club members are responsible for taking pictures that are used within the school for several purposes; yearbook, promotions, archives, team and club pictures, school events and activities, Grad, Photo Club displays and fundraisers. The Club provides an opportunity for students to explore an extracurricular activity that might become a lifelong interest.

Club staff advisors coordinate student participation so that photography of all Carlton school teams, clubs and most activities takes place throughout the school year. Potentially, knowledgeable people from within the school community or outside of Carlton are recruited to share their expertise.

The Photo Club meets every Wednesday, in B107, and operates for the entire school year. In attendance are club members and staff advisors. School activities/team/club photo arrangements are coordinated at these meetings. Plans for Club fundraisers, displays and events are also formed at meetings.

Photo equipment is supplied by the school for student use while participating in club activities. Students are welcome to use their own cameras as well. A flash drive/memory stick is a convenient way to transfer pictures taken using cameras other than those provided by the school. It would be an advantage to own one for that purpose.

The Photo Club welcomes anyone interested in learning about photography to join us. Contact a staff advisor to find out when the next meeting is scheduled, we are looking forward to meeting you.
