Book Club
In Carlton’s Book Club, as its name suggests, we read books. From time to time, we also watch movies. Books are chosen by club members and then discussed at informal noon- hour meetings. We have found that Book Club has allowed us to expand our interests and knowledge by reading outside our normal comfort zones. So far this year, we have read The Book of Negroes, Uglies, My Sister’s Keeper, and Half Broke Horses, all amazing books. It is great to set reading goals and then to have others to share ideas with. We usually meet in Mrs. Roy’s room (B109) on Wednesdays at lunch, and we usually read between fifty and a hundred pages a week. We have approximately ten members.
